Overview
Mejirodai in Bunkyo-ku is located close to Ikebukuro, which is a major hub for transit and a microcosm of other famous Tokyo neighborhoods (like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, etc.). It also borders Waseda University and norther Shinjuku, and is close to Ueno and The University of Tokyo. Mejirodai is a primarily residential and largely quiet setting bordered to the south by the Kanda River (one of the best rivers in Tokyo for cherry blossom viewing)

What I don’t like this area
The best restaurants are concentrated just outside of Mejirodai, so you will likely need to leave this area often if you enjoy food options. There are three large roads and a raised highway that can be a constant source of noise if you live close to them. If you hate hills, this isn’t the place to live.
Other things I would like to mention
Mejirodai is flanked by some of the most popular areas in Tokyo, making it a good place to reside just outside of the bustle. The town’s surroundings are hilly and offer nice strolling environments unique to the upper reaches of the Musashino Plateau, where it is situated. Overall a nice place to live, but not self-contained.
